The Marui M4A1 is undoubtedly the most popular weapon in airsoft. The M4A1 RIS is essentially a shortened M16 rifle with a Rail Interface System (RIS) installed. It has become the primary weapon of the US Army as well as countless law enforcement agencies across the world. The Marui version is of plastic construction and enjoys unparalleled reliability.
Construction:
- Metal: Magazine, stock tube, barrel, front RIS section, front and rear sights.
- Plastic (high density ABS): All parts bar metal mentioned parts and receiver furniture.
As with all Marui guns, this replica is extremely reliable and light weight.
Accessories:
-Magazines are available in: 68, 130, 190, 300, 1000, 2500
-Red Dot sights can be easily attached onto the spine of the gun, either on the carry handle itself, or in place of the handle, which can be removed.
-A silencer can be installed onto the 14mm negative threaded front end to give the rifle a unique look.
-Custom stocks as well as rubber stock pads can give the rifle a very comfortable feel.
-Custom pistol grips can make the rifle comfortable to hold over a full day of skirmishing.
-The entire exterior of the M4, including the receiver can be replaced with full metal components to give it an authentic and realistic feel.
-For the adventurous collector/player, full conversion kits are available to change the rifle to guns such as the Shrike support gun.
-The RIS system can accept flashlights, lasers and even a grenade launcher.

Pros
-This gun enjoys the widest range of accessories in airsoft. The Marui M4A1 RIS can accept a wealth of add ons to dramatically change the look and function of the gun.
- As with all Marui guns, this product is the most reliable option and well made.
-Due to its medium length, this rifle is short enough to use indoors CQB and outdoors woodland.
Cons
- Plastic construction may be light to those who are after a realistically weighted replica.
- The PEQ battery box can only accept small batteries.
- The gun is easier to damage due to fall and abuse compared to full metal guns. This can be solved by upgraded the external body to a metal set later on.
- With a UK legal limit of 328 fps, some may desire a higher power, this can be achieved by an internal upgrade. Costs £120 with engineering to install.
